A Simple Life

Today in Ha Noi I bought knitting needles and wool! Now all I need to do is learn how to knit.... As I was walking down down silk street I passed a kind faced old lady sitting outside her home/shop on the street knitting. I wanted so much to take her photo but having asked many older people in the past if I could take their portrait and having them reply no, I was reluctant to ask this time. After working up the courage to ask 30 minutes later I came back to the spot where she had been but alas she was gone. In hindsight I probably should have asked her for a quick knitting lesson too!

Sometimes I'm quite envious of the simple way of life that many of the Vietnamese live by. Although I'm careful not to confuse simple with easy- for most, it certainly isn't an easy living by any means.

I'd just like mine to be a little less complicated :)
