Sleight of Hand
It's always fun to watch the pizza being made at La Fiamma, as we did tonight -- first the skilled toss (look behind the pizza boxes on the left), with the flying crust then moving completely out of sight (close-up of today's blip), and eventually returning to be adorned with the particular toppings chosen by its soon-to-be-consumer.
I've enjoyed a full day with daughter M, with shopping and a few photos at the farmers' market this morning, a quick lunch, then off to Chocolate Necessities, Mallard Ice Cream, the California Impressionists exhibit at Whatcom Museum, and a methodical look through everything in a clothing consignment shop where I've built up credit over the past year.
The weather has been wretched, windy and drenching rain, but we've had a great time together, capped off with supper at La Fiamma with Phil (find out what we ate on his blip, for a change!), and an interesting discussion about the possibility of a trip to Croatia sometime in the next few years.
M, who has been there twice and loved it, particularly the Istrian Peninsula, would like for me to see it with her; Phil's interested too. Having relished all the wonderful photos of that country on Booky Goatherd's journal in recent months, I'm giving this possibility serious consideration!
