Making connections

O is so clever. He looked at this business card on our counter tonight and said, "they have this at the bbq place." It is so fun to hear all the connections he is making. Speaking of this bbq card, we have officially ordered our Thanksgiving smoked turkey with gravy, stuffing and mashed potatoes from Rib Slayer for this coming Thursday. We are preparing the house for a McMiddleville Thanksgiving celebration and look forward to friends descending upon us from the north and from the south. John took Owen to Imagine Play and then went out shopping this morning. He came home with two spray cans to make a chalkboard wall in our basement. He is downstairs now painting away.

Owen has a bit of a cold today and did not take a nap this afternoon, so he went right to bed at 8. I tried to get him to fall asleep on the couch about 1:15 and he laid with me for about 20 minutes but wouldn't sleep, so I put him in his bed and he wouldn't fall asleep. I went in and rocked him, and then asked if he would be able to sleep in the big bed. We went in there and he laid pretty still for about an hour and then I finally gave up. He was trying to talk to me and was being really cute, but his poor nose was running like crazy. We got to Skype with Aunt Jen, cousins Kiersten and Kyla, and Gigi and Papa tonight. It was fun to see everyone as we haven't seen them since July. Then after dinner Owen watched "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" while I cut his hair. He did really well and is looking much better now that the hair is out of his eyes.
