Our weekend work
This is W's workshed, at the bottom of the garden. This side of it is where the pots of roses have been resting, neglected. And it's where I want to establish a bed with foxgloves, honesty, evening primrose and other native self-seeding plants.
But first, we have to sand and paint the shed. In this photo, you can see where W had reached with his sander, before we stopped for a tea break. At that stage, I had varnished most of the front. We went on to get one coat on 2 sides today. The second coat will go on rather more quickly tomorrow. The other 2 sides are more difficult to get at, as they are abutting the overgrown hedging on the boundary of our land.
This end of the garden is still rather wild - this is the first step to getting it under some control. We like wild, but "controlled wild" is our aim in the garden.
