Marie and I went to Christchurch today to take my Telephoto lens to the Nikon, Tamron Doctor. A very cold and wet day. Today is Daffodil Day in New Zealand and the Volunteers were out in force to support the Cancer Society, collecting donations. Despite the cold and wet day these wonderful people were smiling and they were like a ray of sunshine. All the volunteers I spoke to were survivors, the lady in my extra talked about having Seven cancers, Breast cancer where she had a Mastectomy straight away and now says she's the Mudder with one Udder and Melanoma which she left very late knowing she had Melanoma.
We were more than happy to donate as the Cancer Society come to us in a difficult time in Marie's life. This month is Bowel Cancer Month, don't take no for an answer go and get yourself checked even if you need to pay for the test yourself. Marie was Lucky When you walk up the street or look at a stranger that's what Bowel Cancer looks like, no abnormalities nothing sticking out and for some by the time the find out it's too late. The highlight of talking with the two ladies, the one on the left ( extra) her Brother In Law was told he had Cancer had had only 6 weeks to live so he Bought his Coffin, organised his Funeral, got his affairs in order and when he saw the consultant was told he had nothing wrong, it was a person with the same name but different date of birth. Family suggested he could give his coffin to the other bloke
