Stand Tall!

This afternoon while we were waiting in the doctors office, Moira and I read some books together. I love this story, Stand Tall Molly Lou Melon.

Molly Lou Melon was starting first grade and her grandmother gives her words of wisdom.

“Walk as proudly as you can and the world will look up to you.”
“Smile Big and the world will smile right alongside of you.”
“Sing out clear and strong and the world will cry tears of joy.”
“Believe in yourself and the world will believe in you too.”

Molly Lou Melon’s first week in first grade was a little rough. Not everybody liked her. But she remembered her grandmother’s words of wisdom and she applied them .

At the end of the story, she writes her grandmother and tells her that everything she said was true.

I can only hope and pray that someday my grandchildren will believe that I gave them words of wisdom that were true.
