It's been a long time coming

Dashed into Limoges today to find a part that we are lacking for the motorhome. Couldn't go to town without calling at Grand Frais of course. We also visited a Gamm Vert, which may now be one of my favourite shops. Certainly I am adding the Cave next door to Grand Frais, where we purchased an excellent St Emilion Grand Cru Classé and, joy of joys, a bottle of sherry (the French don't do sherry as a rule).

We bought all manner of good things in Grand Frais, largely for a celebration meal tomorrow. I use the word largely advisedly, there is a pot of chocolate mousse in the fridge for dessert - a 400 gramme pot!

In the bakery we bagged a 4-for-the-price-of-3 bargain on what may be the best bread in the whole of France but the highlight of the day, and today's blip, is my lunchtime sandwich. The sandwich was far and away the best example of the art that I have come across in my French travels and was absolutely delicious.

Tomorrow I shall be crisping up some duck confit and making Pommes de Terres Salardaises. The starter will be luscious black figs with a blue sheep cheese and Serrano ham. There are fresh raspberries to go with that chocolate mousse. There may or may not be a blip but after the sherry and the Bordeaux... who knows if I will be able to point a camera in any sensible direction
