A day out in Newquay

Bank Holiday Monday and Ann said, 'Molly, let's have a day out. Would you like to go to Newquay?' I haven't had a day out for ages because Ann thinks I'm too old and decrepit. I ran to the front door straight away because I didn't want her to change her mind and go out without me.

We like Newquay because there are lots of fun places for doggies to have a good run about. And today I was very happy and bouncy. We parked down by the Gannel Estuary and as the tide was out, there was loads of space for me to run about. I was like a little puppy, zooming here, there and everywhere. Then I had to go back on my lead to walk past the boating lake. The boating lake always seems like a really good place for me to have a swim..................... but I'm never, ever allowed to. Apparently Ann doesn't want a boat to run me down.

We walked around town and I was walking really sensibly on my lead. I wasn't being snail like at all. Newquay town was really busy and loads of little kids asked Ann if they could stroke me. I like little people so I stood patiently while they patted me. Ann was very proud of my behaviour.

And then guess where we went?.................... We went to Fistral Beach and walked all the way along it. I was in super speedy, zoomie, collie mode. It was such fun. And when we'd done that, we walked down to the Gannel Estuary again and I got to zoom around all the way back to the car.

Ann thinks we probably walked about 5-6 miles and I managed it really easily, though we didn't have to walk up any big steep hills.

So the question is............................ Why am I sooooo slow and snail like when I go on my walks around St Ives? Do you think I am just bored and can't be bothered?

PS – I've been in snooze mode ever since I got home. Lol!
