".... Whenever You Look Up There I Shall Be ...."
This pair of collared doves have been billing and cooing on the ridge and the aerial for the past few days. They were one above the other this morning and I thought of this quote from Far From The Madding Crowd.
“And at home by the fire, whenever you look up there I shall be— and whenever I look up, there will be you.
-Gabriel Oak”
Hardy's independent Bathsheba wasn't impressed when Farmer Oak said it but she and Gabriel did finally marry. Romantic passion is as evanescent as steam said Hardy.
