In between train connections I decided to look for some of the bees on Manchester’s Bee Trail and noticed this rainbow crossing outside Piccadilly station. It has been installed to lead visitors to the Gay Village which is looking very colourful with rainbow coloured decorations and preparations were going on for the hundreds of people who are expected to the Pride Festival over the next four days.
(Extra) Of the several bees that I saw this 'Urban Jungle Bee' designed by Nicola Fernandes seems appropriate with its rainbow colours.
The design focuses on the creation of green spaces within the grey landscape of Manchester. The leafy design is inspired by houseplants, traditional flowers and nature. The Bee appears to be riding on a rainbow, which references Manchester’s diversity and vibrant culture.
