Mallaig and Glenfinnan
We had a bit of road trip today further north than Fort William, taking the scenic route up to Mallaig. The views were stunning and we caught a glimpse of the Jacobite Steam train as it chuffed around the mountains. Once in Mallaig we went on a Sea Safari trip. It was great fun being out in the open water and we saw seals and dolphins! Phoebe tried out her action cam and Alexander tried not to loose his new hat overboard!
Once back on dry land we walked through the little town to the train station. The Jacobite had caught us up and was preparing for its return journey. We sat and watched it pull out from the station and Alexander thought it was amazing!
After coffee and cake we got back into the car and headed back down the road stopping at Glenfinnan on the way. We walked right up to the monument and looking out across the Loch was so magical and peaceful. I could’ve stayed there all day. We also took a walk up the hill to get a better look at the Glenfinnan viaduct. It’s an amazing structure. The Jacobite has already passed over long before we got there but we did see a Scot Rail go across!
