Between fen and mountains

The white cliffs of France.

The journey to the tunnel tomorrow is only 3 km which is very handy. We spent the afternoon exploring the two windy headlands opposite Dover. This one is Cap Blanc Nez as opposed to Cap Gris Nez as it has the white cliffs. It was much calmer on the beach. Dover is just 21 miles away and I could just make out its cliffs.
It was GCSE results today and Alice got a raft of a A*s, As and Bs without doing any work. I can’t even preach her a moral tale, not that I would! She will be moving on to a music performance course and didn’t think the grades were important.
