Chartres

Today’s stop was at Chartres. The cathedral was magnificent, especially the stained-glass of the three rose windows. The iPhone does not really do them justice but I can not download from the camera yet. Apparently there are 12,000 scenes depicted in all the windows and the scale of the building is very dramatic. A walk around the old town and down to the river followed. Tonight I will go and see the illuminations.
