It Kept 4 Hungry Teenagers Interested

An early start as we headed off to Córdoba for the day. What a beautiful city, conquered by the Moors in the 8th century, it is full of mosques and palaces and the highlight was definitely the Mezquita Catedral de Córdoba which in it’s history began as a Christian basilica, before being shared by the Muslims, then became a mosque until finally being consecrated as a Catholic church in 1236. It was designated a UNESCO world heritage site in 1984.

Inside are these amazing arches supported by a total of 856 columns. There are prayer niches, Byzantine mosaics, paintings and carvings galore. It was so enthralling a place, it even managed to keep four hungry teenagers interested for the morning.
