Butterfly buns

I wonder who first made Butterfly Buns. My mother made them and I’m pretty certain my grandma made them. In fact the icing sugar sifter here belonged to my grandma and I can remember her using it.

Lots of shopping, baking and cooking today. We have visitors arriving tomorrow afternoon and we also have the electricity off from 9am to 3pm. So it’s been a matter of deciding what needs electricity and had to be done today and what doesn’t need any and can be left until tomorrow. It’s all those little things where we take power for granted.
