With mountains like these

Frieze

The upholsterers on Plaza America has cushions, fabrics, threads and curtains piled high, and some very bright ceiling lights, so it was all I could do to get one corner of the amazing tiled frieze that completely circumnavigates the upper walls and ceiling. Apparently the building used to be a kindergarten run by nuns for the workers in the textile factories which used to operate 24 hours a day. The good times? I don't know, but at least people were working, unlike now. I liked the rabbit which you can maybe see on the left is found in another form in the next picture, hanging ready for the pot! Another shows children playing cards, but the nicest was children playing in the woods with a deer.
