The Woodland Tribe

This to the uninitiated might look like a pile of old wood being made ready for Guy Fawkes night, but you would have had to think twice had you seen the childish activity at the weekend.
Small children and slightly bigger children were let loose with nails and hammers to build a large den accessible by a wooden ladder. Of course there was some adult supervision but the small people I saw were bashing nails into the planks with feverish intent. I imagine there would be a nurse on the site but I saw no injuries or blood and they were all so happy and engaged that it was surely a huge success for everyone.

Today it was being dismantled by bigger people and judging by the number of nails hammered in by the smaller people, it must have taken quite some time.
