Prehistoric life

Down amongst the detritus of last seasons leaf canopy, drawing sustenance from the decay of the woodland grows a prehistoric plant. The fearn has colonised this earth since near the dawn of time. It is sobering to think that it will still be here long after man has outlived his tenure on this blue planet having done his best to ruin a fragile ecosystem which he was supposed to have had the intelligence to protect.
