Sunlight and shadows

We have got over our 48 hours of leaden grey skies and this morning the sun shone in a clear blue sky. In this picture the sun is at about 2 o'clock and the time 9.30am. Because of its position it has created high tonal values in light and shade. I also noticed how dense the ivy has become. If it becomes laden with snow later in the year that will put a significant strain on this old roof.
