Heights of Abraham
#1 Daughter had an activity sorted for today. We did the tourist thing and visited the Heights of Abraham, a series of caves in Derbyshire where lead was mined.
The cable car journey from Matlock Bath brought back memories of ski holidays. The Man and I thought something was missing when we didn't put skis in a holder on the outside of the gondola!
The grandchildren has some good adventure playgrounds to explore during the day. The cave tour we all went on was interesting, telling us how children as young as our Daniel started to work in the narrow passages. Horrendous! Now in 2018, there are the kids having fun, following the tour guide in the mine.
A trip to the gift shop enabled me to treat my grandchildren to some treasures from the Rock Shop, things I used to sell just a few years ago. So glad they are interested in stones.
