Endeavor

Dawn found us in the firth of Clyde and gradually improving light and conditions allowed us to see plenty of Harbour Porpoises before docking in Greenock for unloading and reloading with containers.
We had a good walk along the Esplanade watching for seabirds and porpoises and a good view of the paddlesteamer Waverley. She is the last remaining sea going passenger carrying paddle steamer in the world, built in 1946 and fully restored.
We discovered that Greenock was the birth place of Henry ‘Birdie ‘ Bowers who went to the pole with Scott and died with him on the return journey.
Greenock town centre was a bit of a let down with many empty shops but we got through security to board the ship successfully!
Then a restful afternoon catching up on data input
