Nanny's tree

It will be a year tomorrow since Mum died so we went to the crematorium today to see the leaf we had made for her and to show the boy and the girls were we scattered the ashes. I always comment on how it has always been sunny whenever I have had to attend a funeral at that particular crematorium. Today it was pretty overcast as we drove through the grounds. But the sun came out just as I opened the door.

I kept it together until we walked past the baby area and Esther was excited to see a Peppa Pig amongst all the other teddies and flowers.

Reasons to be cheerful:
Mum made it to 66. Not old at all but she got to see us grow up, get jobs, get married and got to meet four out of five of her grandchildren. Many people aren't that lucky.

Tomorrow we are celebrating Mum's life and Gem's 41st birthday at the Ice Cream Farm. There's no point moping.
