Whistle While You Work

Dear O'H dear and Lovely Tea Jenny,

The Eldest Mini Princess and I went to meet a couple of her friends and their mums to see Break Free, a breakdancing fringe show.

The plan was to drink coffee in George Square and soak up the atmosphere before going to the show. This was thwarted by torrential rain and a serious temperature drop.

The show was ok. It was set to a ‘story’ about breaking out of prison. One of the characters was a policeman who kept blowing a whistle and the music would stop which was VERY annoying by the FIFTIETH time it happened. That performer is very lucky that I didn’t decide it was an interactive show and that the whistle should go where the sun didn’t shine. Overall, I would describe it as a grower. The breakdancing was quite spectacular especially in the last 10 minutes. It’s how people think they can breakdance in their heads but in reality it looks like they are having some sort of fit which requires medical attention.

When it finished, EMP and I exchanged a look and we both understood EXACTLY how the other felt about the show. Whistling dude was lucky he didn’t have a double Princess ambush.
