The Scotsman Steps

104 steps in different coloured marble to take you from  the Scotsman Hotel on North Bridge down to Waverley Station. Best go down rather than up,  its a long way. Originally built in 1899 when the now Scotsman Hotel was The Scotsman newspaper . Refurbished in 2011 with marble from all over the world to stop them being used as a toilet. As the artist said, if they are still used as a toilet at least it will be a posh toilet. No smell of urine today thank goodness
