Dumfries House.

Is actually nowhere near Dumfries!
Today we took a trip down into Ayrshire to visit Dumfries House. We were meeting up with some of MaggieD's cousins and a great time was had by all. No time to visit the house - next time! - but the gardens are simply beautiful. (See today's extra for a small slice of the wild flower garden) We wandered from one delight to another for ages before a light lunch and some more happy wandering.
Another bonus was that we got to drive some roads we hadn't been on for over 30 years! A lovely day all round.
