Trust

Just as those in yesterday’s boats had to trust their guides to keep within safe water, so the crew of the ‘Sprite’ had to have trust in their cox.  In the first of two skiff races that I saw at Fisherrow the rowers were blindfolded so they had to rely entirely upon the cox to guide them as they raced around a buoy some distance out.  In both races the ‘Sprite’ belonging to a team from Portobello  won by a clear margin.  The extra show the six teams starting to warm up before the first race.
