This university is trying very hard to provide a religious education that is relevant to the world outside the walls of the classroom. But as all education facilities know, first you have to attract the students IN!
Hence the rebranding, I suspect. I decided not to buy one but there were even Drew Uni Theoligical School teeshirts for sale. I was tempted, but when would I have found an occasion to wear it?
After 2 weeks of classes here, after the race tension culture shock of the first few days, I have enjoyed the course and feel ready to start the online classes. I need to take 4 (max 2 per semester) before embarking on a research project.
I think that a Doctor of Ministry is more suited to my personality and will benefit my parish more directly than a PhD would. Either way, there's a whole bundle of work to be done. Gulp!
I tried to enter two photos for today, so I shall attach it as an extra.
It took most of the two weeks to finally forge a community out of this group of disparate individuals, but I think we got there.
We decided to share a meal, with students cooking up parts of it in our woefully under equipped student residence kitchens. My kitchen sink was smaller than the average handbasin! I made my kids' favourite; 'widow's pasta' which was well received.
