Unexpected

Katies has a good day today. She spent the morning with Bobbins family, even though Bobbins is away dancing. Katie is adored by both younger brothers. They spent the morning trampolining and on the bouncy castle. She was dripping with sweat when I picked her up!

We drove over to meet Grandad and Granny after that. They took her for a couple of hours, making a visit to the farm park. They rode on a tiny train, had a hot chocolate and played in the park. I arrived after “dinner” had been served in the kitchen/shed! We were going to get a drink and snack in the coffee shop but they’d stopped serving. The decision was made that we’d head over to Thornton Dale.

We had planned to feed Katie and get a bit of something to eat for ourselves. We ended up having really lovely main meals in the vine-covered courtyard. It was wonderful! Katie then remembered a trip we’d made when she was about 5 or 6, during which she paddled. We couldn’t at first work out where it was she meant until we remembered this beautiful little stream by the thatched cottage! It proved to be a great idea on Katies part, it was a perfect end to the afternoon. Well, the toffee & honeycomb icecream that followed for Katie was!
