Enterprising Youth Conference

Spent the day at our Dundee youth conference. An event aimed at encouraging young people to be entrepreneurial and to show them that they can do it. We had several good speakers and they had good tales to tell of their journey towards success in business

This is Kirsten Dunnet who at 21 opened a unique shop in the city selling a quirky and funky range of goods sourced from London. She didn't have an easy time of it being so young and she had some useful tips and emphasises the need for hard work and perseverance. 5 years on and the business is growing and she is aiming to have an online presence and open another shop. Excellent stuff!

One of the other speakers was Daniel Gillespie from the band Skerryvore, based in Tiree. They took the unusual step of setting the band up as a business from the start. If you are a fan of Scottish folky rock music (think Red Hot Chilli Pipers here) then you would love these guys. They also did a set at the end for the kids too!

Et voila, over the hump again! Perhaps the sun will shine tomorrow. A small wine is my reward for making it thus far :)

Oh and Kirsten's shop is Missy Lalas. If you are in town you should check it out
