The Feudal System

Betsy claims to dislike school, but is always bursting to tell me everything she has learned throughout the day! She talks with bundles of energy and enthusiasm about everything that has happened and everything that each teacher has said and done.

Today she used this piece of paper during an illustrated explanation for poor old ignorant me, of the Feudal System.

After that we spent about 25 minutes trying to access Derren Brown's Fear and Faith on 4OD which I saw on Sunday and thought the children would enjoy. All we managed to see was 15 tv ads. I gave up in the end.

Did some work on the quilt this afternoon, finishing the sewing and pinning the bias binding around the edge. I bought two rolls of binding but am about 15 cm short. I also remembered I was going to embroider Al's name and the date in the bottom corner and need to do that before I see the edging on.

My craft-viewing recently has been a TV series called The Slap. It's based on a book, and I've really enjoyed it though it's been rather bleak in places. I've just one more episode to watch.

I just overhead the following exchange between Betsy and her dad;

Chris: Alright my little chicken?
Betsy: Yes thanks, my big hen!
Chris: I think you mean 'Rooster'
Betsy: Isn't 'hen' a generic term for any adult chicken?
Chris: No, it is not.

What?????
