Aaaah

Nothing like sitting in the sun on a Tuesday afternoon in Glandore, sinking a pint. I was there just for the sake of recording of course, wouldn't touch the stuff.
Earlier we were in Skibbereen to have a look at the Coming Home exhibition in Uilinn, of art related to the Irish Famine, some contemporary depictions of the time, some from later, interpretations of what happened and its effect. It was too busy there for me, gallery tours and the like going on, but I found Rowan Gillespie's bronze piece Statistic moving, a depiction of figures and names of those who having escaped the famine on the coffin ships to America, succumbed to typhoid or cholera and were buried in quarantine near Ellis Island.
You'd need a pint after that.  Gorta
