Durham

We have arrived in Alnwick via a trip down Memory Lane in Durham for R who graduated from there 39 years ago. Lovely to explore it with him, a beautiful city ( and another cathedral ticked off). The city has changed, busier bigger and more affluent than remembered, apparently, which seems about right. We then had our lunch under Angel of the North before heading up to Alnwick. Spent a blissful hour in Barter Books mostly resisting temptation to spend lots. Now settled in our cottage home for the next 10 days. Oh and it’s raining
