A Bird in the Hand.......

...except this one isn't, it's in the bush.  In fact there are two birds here, a mother and chick on a nest.  Technically this is not a good photograph but it was taken from the bedroom window after Ann spotted the baby sparrow and I nipped down for my camera.  It was difficult to see the bird, and even more difficult to see the baby from that distance camouflaged by the branches of the Honeysuckle bush where they have made their home.

In other news:  our friends Nicola and Stewart came visiting.  We made a Mexican roasted veg with cod fillets served with stuffed courgettes, and a nice apple frangipane for afters.  The sun is back so we sat outside with coffee and had a nice chat.
