Fly the flag
The heat is getting stifling with a health alert for the end of the week as the temperature is forecast to be over 35 degrees for several days. At least being at 600 metres, we get a little respite at night. The Catalan flag was flying proudly over the Pic de la Pena as I walked to French conversation. I took in some amusing news stories from the French press concerning an increase in Kangaroo deaths on the roads of Canberra as the marsupials come deeper into the town looking for food in the lower than usual winter temperatures. There was also a story of a relaxation of the dress code by the MCC at Lords during the recent hot weather. Fancy wearing suits, ties, socks and shoes in this weather! The women (yes women are now allowed in the pavillon) may wear trousers and even cut offs so long as they are below the knee! I am hoping it will cool a little before 8.30 when I am playing in a badminton tournament.
