New bench

After a lovely stormy downpour this morning, we were worried that the anticipated delivery of the new oak bench might be delayed.  In fact, it arrived on the front of a large tractor, just as the sun was coming out.  It fits the paved area wonderfully.  We can't sit on it at the moment, as it's just had another dose of wood preservative.

It's interesting that the geranium flowering in the linked photo (which was taken on 17th July 2017) are LONG finished flowering this year.  I cut them back several weeks ago, in the hope that they might come again, and they've put on lots of leaf.  Whether they produce any more flowers remains to be seen.

Just look how well the bamboo have done in the last 2 years.
