Nothing happens here...

Not tubular....

I was sat in the garden sheltering from the searing sun when I noticed something twinkling under the Bougainvillia bush. I put down my wonderful Simon's Pie lunchtime treat, pure minced beef with 'to die for gravy' and went over to investigate. This clump of bells had long stopped ringing but were still giving glinting pleasure as they swayed to and fro in the light breeze. I have no idea how long they've been there or what their purpose originally was but they are todays Blip. And as it's getting close to Christmas it didn't seem inappropriate.

BTW (and not wishing to offend any Australian readers) Watch out for the "Gourmet Pies" when you're over here. They seem to be an excuse to offload all sorts of "Look how clever we are" concoctions. I struggled with my sweet, tomato and basil flavoured beef pie in Bondi Junction (binned it) and my Chilli and tomato 'gourmet' pie in Cairns last week was equally disgusting and it too was binned. Then it dawned on me - avoid the 'gourmet' brands - go for the good old basic 'Beef Pie'. Yummy.

My all time favourite was from the Esso Filling Station at Hornsby - in a plain brown wrapper of course. A close second was a Polly's Pie from Berrie NSW which if I recall correctly had my son-in-law sucking his T shirt to extract the last juicy remnants. We're still training him with the knife and fork.
