Low tide on Threipmuir Reservoir
To make up for yesterday’s indulgences and lack of a walk (although I did go for a jog up to The reservoirs first thing) we went for a longer yomp around Threipmuir and Harlaw Reservoirs then along the Waters of Leith back to Balerno. A distance of 8 miles with was exactly the same as our Crinkle Crags stroll last Wednesday.
The water level was the lowest we’ve ever seen it. https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2196178982792070685 We were able to walk out over the reservoir bed. Shows what happens when the Scots fix their roof. Normal service was resumed today with lots of rain!
The extra is a swathe of flowers on Marchbank Park, not a wild flower swathe but colourful all the same.
That exertion put us in good heart to visit The Kismot Indian Restaurant to round off the anniversary weekend. Today was our respective anniversaries. Barbara and David had their party yesterday but like us the actual day is today. Forty years for them, 16 for us.
Great place The Kismot, voted No 1 in Edinburgh and No 1 in the UK although the year of the awards was not specified. Unusually, for an Indian Restaurant the menu was simple and easy to understand. The Jalfrezi was hot!
