Life in death

I was wondering whether the heather would actually flower this year with the lack of rain on the moors (the bog cotton hasn't really done too well) but this does seem to be hanging on in there.  Today's seven hours of rain is hardly going to bring this whole carpet back to life but it was good to see some shoots still going strong.

It was a cafe trip with the boys before they headed off for their wet journey home.
