Nostalgia

Decided to clear out the kitchen cupboard and found the 80s marvel, a Breville sandwich toaster.

A few slices of cheddar and a thick spread of Branston pickle later (did the bread ever fit perfectly?) and I was transported back to 1984, 5 years old.

Crayola pens and a sketch pad spread out on the table, smell of cut grass from the garden as dad mowed the lawn, mum ironing my school uniform, Supergran on the telly and toasted sandwiches for Sunday tea.

Happy days.
