Preparation
The day before Penrith Agricultural Show. As "the Mate" had in a forgetful moment arranged one of his Cabinet making courses for the week he dropped the trailer and Land Rover on the pitch at 8:00. We the dropped him at the workshop. The stand would be surrounded by the end of the day so the Landie had to be in place.
Clickychick and I had a gentle day getting things set up. When we picked "the Mate" up we also picked up 2 extra tables and then finished setting up. In the evening CC and I had a stroll round the show field. Show fields when half set up are strange places, mainly empty marquees and large machines.
On our walk we passed the place where the dry stone walling competition was to take place. Sixteen entrants. Over the years they have successively dismantled and rebuilt. Now they have reached the end I suppose they will start all over a again. The blue litter bin at the end reminds me of another observation. Over the years show fields have gone from very littered, with lines of people picking litter when every one has gone to very clean and tidy. When we left there wasn't a single piece of litter insight and during the day I noticed visitors pick up the odd piece of other people's litter.
