A life lost too soon

A week ago, after a couple of weeks of feeling weak and generally rough, doctors told an otherwise fit and healthy Elizabeth that her stomach problems could be a virus, possibly hepatitis, probably not cancer.
A week later she was hospitalised with terminal bowel cancer which had spread to her lymphatic system.
Her family and friends have stayed by her bedside all day and all night ever since to provide comfort, a hand to hold and, despite the horrific circumstances, humour.
Every 30 minutes, someone in the UK dies from bowel cancer. At 06.10 Elizabeth became one of them, she was 41 years old.
How a family start to deal with this I have no idea. Their lives changed forever by a life taken so quickly by this cruel ruthless brutal disease.
I worked from home today, with a bad headache this morning, possibly due to the  oppressive heat (32 degrees in my lounge, door open, two fans on the go). George is not coping well with the heat. He’s stalking about panting, desperately trying to locate a breeze.
