1926 Lynton
I found this old postcard this afternoon when I was looking through some of mom's little piles of things while we were waiting for a nurse to come and do a review. She was very nice but has left me feeling drained, as if she doesn't understand everything I already have to do as she has suggested other little tasks for me. It doesn't help that Dad can't hear what she said to him and said he'd like to be able to go out more often so it would be good if I could find someone to go and sit with Mom at times. The I had an email from my friend who has cancer. All getting a bit overpowering...
Anyway, the postcard, appears to have been sent on August 5 1926 by my maternal grandparents, Gladys and Cecil, to Cecil's grandfather and aunt who lived near Cannock. You can see the writing on the postcard in the extras. I think they must have sent it when they were on their honeymoon. I think the postcard picture is really interesting and I would like to be able to compare it with the river as it is now at Watersmeet. I think this is a really fascinating little bit of family history and I am glad it has emerged from somewhere...
