Starry
Eventually made it to a nearby cafe for a bit of breakfast - all a bit weary after our first full New York day yesterday. But we had cycling to do....up to Columbus Circle to pick up the bikes for riding around Central Park. Great fun but hot as all hell and, after a total of 6.5 miles in the saddle, it was straight into the French place on the corner of 57th St for some much-needed fancy sandwiches and artisan lemonade and.....I could have sat there all day if they'd allowed me and I didn't have Loads Of Other Stuff to do as well.
Museum Of Modern Art was somewhere else last time I was here but now it was just a few blocks walk away, a walk that took us past the famous Russian Tea Rooms where they were filming the new series of Ray Donovan. I'm convinced that I walked past Gary Busey as well, it certainly looked like him. MOMA was just fabulous with an outrageous selection of masterpieces in every room - almost overwhelming at times. Iconic stuff.
By the time we'd finished at MOMA and had a wander down 5th Avenue and done a bit of shopping and had a bit of a people watch and a sit down and a coffee and some air-con and a bit more of a wander and General Tourist Stuff.....it was time for the subway back to the hotel. And the sun had set and the night was dark and it was still sweltering and it was all we could do to visit the food carts near us and sit in the little park with our falafel wraps and sodas from Karim's to finish the day off.
