In June 19986. My mate Boris and I turned up with several other thousand folk at Ibrox stadium to see SimpleMinds.

My sister and her Husband to be (in about 8 weeks) sat behind us and did the whole ‘egg sandwiches in a lunch box thing.

The Cult supported, and the lead singer took his willy out and waved it round the stage. Thank god i had binoculars. The waterboys came on. It was drizzling, it was cloudy. It was a Scottish summer day.

Then as the opening chords of ‘whole of the moon’ came on.... sun broke through the clouds, we dried up and the day took an altogether different feel.

I still feel joyous when I hear that song!
