The bike trail in Loveland
Sunday
Following on from Friday’s entry, talking about Laura’s foot injury, we were relieved to wake up this morning to a message from her, sent at about 3am our time, to say she was safely at Manchester airport, waiting for Janet to come and pick her up. Once I had made us some tea, we gave her a call. She’d had a bath, and was sounding and feeling quite a bit better. She’d had to request wheel chair assistance at the airports, since she obviously couldn’t manage luggage while on crutches, and being new on crutches she was getting tired easily, but at the same time, she said she felt a bit of a fraud! Anyway her foot is already feeling more comfortable, so it’s obviously beginning to heal. Having chatted with Laura for a bit, it was time to get up, have breakfast and get off to church. It was another overcast day today, still with a chance of showers, but less so than the last couple of days, so we decided to risk going for a bike ride. We started in Loveland, where my Blip was taken, and cycled for just over 17 miles return. It did start drizzling at one point, but fortunately didn’t come to much. The river was looking rather swollen and muddy after the rain of the last two days. A quick grocery shop on the way home, then roast beef for dinner!
