The Hills

The hills in this part of Gran Canaria are practically all dry and dusty. Pre 60’s they were full of tomato plants growing, but the producers found that the ground was too dry, and coupled with cheaper imports from nearby Morocco, the fields were soon abandoned.
The irrigation channels can still be seen though.
