Independence

Sir John de Graeme fought alongside William Wallace in the Scottish Wars of Independence and was killed at the Battle of Falkirk on 22 July 1298. This fountain was erected near the place where he was reputed to have fallen. It has fallen into some disrepair, but a recent crowd-funded project aims to restore it to its original glory.
