Fancy a swim in the Slad Brook?
Of course it isn't really these colours, but it's playtime.
I'd arranged to meet a friend on the bridge so we could walk up together to a party to celebrate 20 years of the Credit Union. We are founder members. I am member number 20, and joined when it was launched as a savings club, prior to becoming a credit union. Later I served on the loans committee for a number of years.
The party was fun: our Labour MP David Drew, spoke, as did local author Katie Fforde (both are members) and many stalwarts from the good ol' days. I slipped away as early as I could, in order to go home, as in my own home. I'm staying here tonight. Market tomorrow, early.
In other news, it was another super-sunny day. I went volunteering at the care home in Stonehouse, did some shopping, went back to the house sit and ate too many biscuits because it was too hot to do anything else! I haven't heard back about a job I applied for before going to Argyll. As the interviews are next Thursday, I
expect that if I don't hear by tomorrow, that'll be it.
By my calculations, based on my blip entries, it hasn't rained in Stroud since 16th June. The grass verges are parched. A hay lorry caught fire today on the M5, near the Worcestershire border. The flames were 40 feet high.
