The Heatwave Continues

...or "This is not a dead bouquetin" ....

I took to the high mountains today to get some cool breezes, expecting to find a few animals in the area around the Rambert Hut. The only ones there were the human variety drinking copious cold drinks! Then I saw a movement at around 3,000m on a snow and scree slope on the side of the Grand Muveran. It was not this fellow who stayed steadfastly on his side enjoying the breeze off the snow. There were 6 large and sleepy males lying in the shallow hollows they had scraped out of the scree (see extra). Looking back at the hut, a new metal box, you can see the view of the Alps the bouquetins have from their favoured relaxing place (second extra). It was a long and steamy descent back to the valley.

Finally a wildwed entry on the right day even if he is looking more like a cow sleeping!
