Fledging

When I went to check on the blackbirds' nest this morning, the babies were almost out of the nest. No doubt they will be fledged later today or tomorrow and out into the big bad world outside the protection of the nest and the greenhouse.

Sarah  went back to London this morning and I travelled with her as far as Carlisle. Today was Graduation day for the University of Cumbria and outside the cathedral were the graduates in their robes and finery posing for photos with friends and relatives. I wish them all safe and happy futures, too.
